'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Sneak Peek: Melissa Fumero's Baby Bump Goes Undercover
Throughout Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s third season, viewers may or may not have noticed producers hiding the real-life pregnancy of co-star Melissa Fumero (Amy) in the traditional TV ways.
There was the large bag.
The large gift basket.
The large pillow.
The large coat.
And the large trench coat.
But for the last three episodes of the season, starting with the April 5 half-hour, the Fox comedy will get truly clever: Amy will go undercover as a pregnant prisoner.
In the exclusive sneak peek above, she practices the cover story she will use to befriend a fellow inmate (guest star Aida Turturro) to get information on a criminal operation. “Is anyone gonna buy it? I mean, do I look pregnant?” Amy asks boyfriend Jake (Andy Samberg) and colleague Charles (Joe Lo Truglio).
“I mean, I guess I can see it,” Jake says, trying to adjust her fake belly (which is actually real).
Fumero gave birth to her first child, son Enzo, on March 24, the same day it was announced that Brooklyn Nine-Nine had been renewed for a fourth season.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. on Fox.
