Bros Keep It Bro While Bro-ing Out on ‘American Ninja Warrior’
Bro ninjas Brandon Mears and Dan Polizzi competed in the Indianapolis finals of American Ninja Warrior Monday night. The two firefighters are huge fans of not only the ninja competition, but also calling each other “bro.”
Mears and Polizzi met during last year’s competition and have been best bros ever since. They even train together. Mears explained their friendship by saying, “I don’t know, I think our bro-tons combined.” While training, the bros like to substitute “bro” for other words and numbers, much like the Smurfs would use the word “smurf.” For example, instead of counting to 20 while doing pushups, they count to bro, one bro at a time.
Unfortunately, Mears didn’t make it far enough to move on to the next round in Las Vegas, but his bro Polizzi did. After being told he was moving on, Polizzi seemed dejected saying, “It’s not the same without my bro, though.” It was so touching that the sideline reporter commented, “I love you guys, you’re bro-ing it out still.”
American Ninja Warrior airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
