Bruce Springsteen health update: Gives message to fans from 'wildlands' of New Jersey

Bruce Springsteen is recuperating from his vocal issues in the “wildlands” of New Jersey, and he has his eyes on his fans.

The Boss, who lives in Colts Neck, delivered a health update and message on June 4 to fans via video on his socials.

“Hi, this is Bruce Springsteen coming to you from the wildlands of New Jersey where I am just getting over my vocal bug,” said a tanned Springsteen, filmed in what appears to be a late model car on a backroad. “I have to apologize again for missing those concerts, but more importantly than that I have to thank our incredible fans in the cities of Marseilles, and Milan and Prague for their beautiful serenading when we weren’t feeling so good.”

Concerts May 25 in Marseille, France; May 28 in Prague; and June 1 and 3 in Milan were postponed due to Springsteen’s “vocal issues” on doctor’s orders. Large groups of fans in those cities subsequently took to the streets to sing and play Springsteen songs.

“It was really touching, deeply emotional, and it’s something I won’t forget. We will be back and we will give you the show of your lives,” Springsteen said. “Thank you very much.”

The Marseille show has been rescheduled for May 31, 2025, and the Prague show for June 15, 2025. No word yet on the Milan shows. Up next is the June 12 and 14 at Cívitas Metropolitano in Madrid.

In related news, Springsteen is joining Bleachers, Elvis Costello, Billie Joe Armstrong, Tom Morello, the Hold Steady, Dinosaur Jr., Lucinda Williams, the Wallflowers, Alison Mosshart, the late Wayne Kramer, Tommy Stinson, Spoon, Counting Crows, Susanna Hoffs and more covering the songs of New York City rocker Jesse Malin on “Silver Patron Saints: The Songs of Jesse Malin.”

It's a benefit for Malin, who suffered a rare and sudden spinal stroke that left him paralyzed from the waist down.

Malin frequently performed in Asbury Park over the years, and was a regular at the Light of Day shows, which raise funds and awareness for Parkinson's and related diseases.
