Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney fete Jon Bon Jovi at MusiCares gala in Los Angeles
The Boss and a Beatle made it to the Jon Bon Jovi MusiCares Person of the Year gala at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Friday, Feb. 2.
Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney attended the event, which celebrated the career of Bon Jovi and marked the rocker's philanthropic endeavors, including the the JBJ Soul Kitchen restaurants, which help feed the hungry.
Springsteen, who's mom Adele Springsteen passed away on Jan. 31, performed "Who Says you Can't Go Home" and "The Promised Land" with Bon Jovi.
"I want to thank my friend and my mentor Bruce Springsteen. Bruce and Pam's mom passed two days ago," said Bon Jovi, according to social media postings. "When I first got the news, he was already on the airplane on his way here. I certainly would've understood if he'd said that he couldn't make it, but he wanted to be here tonight for MusiCares. He wanted to be here tonight for me, and I'm forever grateful to you."
Springsteen held his hands together with a prayerful gesture as Bon Jovi spoke.
McCartney and wife Nancy Shevell, an Edison native like Bon Jovi's David Bryan, made the scene.
"I have to give a shout-out to a past recipient of this award, Sir Paul McCartney, but I think it's fair to say that the reason most, if not all of us, are in this room tonight, it's because of you. So thank you very much for being beautiful," said Bon Jovi, a Sayreville native.

The band Bon Jovi, without a rumored appearance by ex-guitarist Richie Sambora, debuted a new song at the gala called "Legendary," a driving beat-heavy rocker that spotlighted drummer Tico Torres.
Other performers included Melissa Etheridge and Larkin Poe on "Blaze of Glory"; Jelly Roll on "Bad Medicine"; Jason Isbell on "Wanted Dead or Alive"; Damiano David on "Keep the Faith"; The War and Treaty on "I’ll Be There for You"; Mammoth WVH on "Have a Nice Day"; and Brandy Clark on "(You Want To) Make a Memory."
MusiCares is the foundation arm of the Recording Academy, which produces the Grammy Awards. It also provides aid — including emergency financial assistance, medical expenses, addiction recovery, disaster relief and treatment for critical illnesses — to members of the music community.

The band Bon Jovi has been recording new material in Nashville. Band members quipped that the outfit is in a "sexless marriage" on the red carpet.
"It's a sexless marriage, yeah," said keyboardist David Bryan. "You know what? We make great music together. We have a lot of fun. We started out this journey when we were yutes (youths in 'My Cousin Vinny' style), young youths ... We came from nowhere and we wanted to go everywhere and be somebody, and we keep striving to do that and having fun as a band, playing and coming up with new music and keep getting out there and bringing it to the people."
As for Springsteen, he's going for Grammy gold for his 2022 solo album, “Only the Strong Survive,” which is nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Traditional Pop Category.
The Grammys are Sunday, Feb. 4, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
