The last time Springsteen and the E Street Band played Phoenix was 2016 when the River Tour played at the same venue, which was then called Talking Stick Resort Arena.
The E Street Band's 2023 international tour began Feb. 1 in Tampa, Florida, with Springsteen and his bandmates playing their first North American show in seven years.
Opening night featured a high-energy 28-song set with such fan favorites as "Born to Run" and "Prove it All Night" and "Wrecking Ball," with The E Street Band effortlessly shifting to soul and R&B while complemented by a horn section and backing vocalists.
Rolling Stone called the band's return "ecstatic and emotional." Spin called it a "must-see."
