Bruce Springsteen sends message to Phoenix: 'We are going to rock you into the ground'

Get your freak on in Phoenix.

On March 17, Bruce Springsteen delivered a video message to fans two days before the relaunch of his concert tour at the Footprint Center in Phoenix.

“Greetings freaks, fan and friends from Phoenix, Arizona, from Bruce Springsteen,” said the Boss, sitting down with shades and a white cowboy hat, which he doffs. “I am coming to see you on Tuesday night and I want you to be ready, be prepared, be afraid because we are going to rock you into the ground. See you then!”

“Oh for gods sake Bruce, Phoenix just got even hotter!” commented a fan on Instagram.

The show will be the first for Springsteen and the E Street Band since Sept. 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. Due to Springsteen's bout with peptic ulcer disease, Springsteen postponed the rest of the band's September concerts. On Sept. 27, he postponed shows for the rest of the year.

The 24 postponed shows have been rescheduled, and more stadium dates in Europe, and two shows in the U.S., have been added. The Springsteen and E Street Band appearance at the Sea Hear Now festival on the beach in Asbury Park is one of the new U.S. dates.

Springsteen made his return to the concert stage when he sang backup Oct. 29 with the unlikely grouping of Tony Orlando, Steven Van Zandt and Patti Scialfa for Freedom Bremner and Mark Rivera's version of  “With a Little Help from My Friends” at the New Jersey Hall of Fame Class of 2023 induction ceremony.

The next week he surprised the audience on Nov. 6 at the Stand Up for Heroes veterans' fundraiser for the Bob Woodruff Foundation at Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall in New York City. Springsteen joined John Mellencamp for the song “Wasted Days” from Mellencamp's 2022 album, “Strictly a One-Eyed Jack,” then stuck around to perform four solo acoustic songs.

The 2024 tour is scheduled to end in Canada on Friday, Nov. 22, at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. See the complete tour schedule below.
