Bryan Danielson Wins Owen Hart Cup, Will Challenge For AEW World Title At AEW All In
Bryan Danielson will challenge for the AEW World Championship at AEW All In.
On the July 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, Bryan Danielson faced “Hangman” Adam Page in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The winner of the tournament would earn a shot at the AEW World Championship at AEW All In.
In the closing minutes, Danielson accidentally took out the referee with a running knee. Page capitalized by hitting Danielson with his belt. He went to choke Danielson, but Jarrett stopped him. Page shoved Jarrett down. The legend then revealed that he had a referee shirt on.
Danielson and Page kept battling. Danielson took one Buckshot Lariat, but he kept fighting. He got a near fall with a pin attempt, but Hangman locked in a crossface and nearly choked him out. Danielson then turned it into a pin attempt and stacked Page up for the pin and the win.
Dr. Martha Hart then came to the ring with Jarrett to present Danielson with the trophy. Hart said that it was great to be in Owen Hart’s hometown. She awarded the Owen Cup to Danielson, and he raised the trophy.
The broadcast team confirmed that Danielson would challenge Swerve Strickland for the word title at AEW All In. Strickland then came out to confront Danielson.
