Bryan Ferry Releases ‘Star’, His First New Music In Over A Decade
Roxy Music legend Bryan Ferry has just shared his first slice of new music in over a decade. Inspired by a sketch from Nine Inch Nails icons Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, ‘Ferry’s new single ‘Star’ is a dark and gleaming slice of post-techno, created in collaboration from artist and painter, Amelia Barratt.
‘Star’, which you can stream below, will feature on Retrospective: Selected Recordings 1973-2023, a monumental 81-track album collection spanning Ferry’s 50-year solo career.

“‘Star’ is a collaboration with the painter and writer Amelia Barratt,” Ferry said in a press statement. “A couple of years ago I helped her record an audiobook here in my studio. I was very impressed by her writing, and this is the first song we did together. I’m very excited about this new work – there’s a lot more to come.”
As well as ‘Star’, Retrospective: Selected Recordings 1973-2023 will also feature songs from across Ferry’s 16 solo albums. The album will be released in multiple formats, including a 5CD deluxe box set featuring all 81 songs, accompanied by a 100-page hardback book containing extensive new liner notes, rare and unseen photographs and imagery.
It’s due for release on Friday, 25th October and you can pre-save/pre-order it right here.
