The Buff Baby Yoda Cake You Definitely Didn’t Need to See

The wonder of TikTok is that you can discover videos on very specific subjects you never knew existed. And then you fall into a deep, dark rabbit hole. A whole channel devoted to the soothing quality of power-washing? Check. A TikToker all about making food from The Lord of the Rings? Yep. And now: a TikTok channel making buff cake versions of some of your favorite characters from pop culture. Amanda, who goes by Baking Thursdays, has shared a number of desserts on TikTok since last summer. But in March, she started posting a series of buff cakes—including one of Grogu, a.k.a. Baby Yoda. We don’t know how to feel. Watch for yourself.

Grogu grew up and hit the gym and we don’t like it.

One of Amanda’s followers requested this creative monstrosity and she delivered. She absolutely nailed this brief. This Grogu has a wee six pack, muscular arms, and… nipples. Despite not knowing how to react to this bake, which we learned about through Big Spaceship’s Internet Brunch newsletter, we respect the craftsmanship. That fondant is so well sculpted! And the shading that defines all those many muscles? Impeccable. And the resemblance totally comes through.

As intimated above, Grogu is only one of the buff pop culture characters Amanda has crafted lovingly from cake. If you want to be truly scarred, watch buff Waluigi come to life.

Or hey, how about a beefy rat? This take on Remy from Ratatouille is too much in the very best way.

Again, I can’t say that’s something I ever wanted to see. But I respect her decorating skills. She clearly knows what she’s doing. You can follow along for more buff bakes and lots of other desserts at TikTok or Instagram.
