Busan International Film Festival has revealed the 30 projects that have been selected for this year’s Asian Project Market (APM), including several from Asian filmmakers who have previously had films selected for the Korean festival.

The line-up includes Dhakar Nagin, from Bangladeshi filmmaker Iqbal H. Chowdhury, who won Busan’s New Currents Award last year with The Wrestler. Also returning is Indonesia’s Wregas Bhanuteja with Levitating, after his film Photocopier screened in New Currents in 2021.

Established filmmakers in the selection include Hong Kong documentary filmmaker Chan Tze-woon with Nothing Happened, Filipino indie filmmaker Don Josephus Raphael Eblahan, who focuses on indigenous and post-colonial narratives and will present Hum, and Malaysian filmmaker Woo Ming Jin with The Camford Experiment.

This year’s APM also features seven projects from Korean filmmakers, including A Way To étretat by Shin Suwon, Door-Frame by Jeong Beom, The Birds by Sohn Hyun-lok, Hellfire Club by Shin Aga, Ulaanbaatar by Kang Donghun, Strange Marriage by Jung Wonhee, and DO BYE Nursing Hospital by Oh Seyeon.

APM will take place alongside the Asian Contents & Films Market (ACFM), which runs October 5-8, during the Busan International Film Festival (October 2-11).
