Busy Philips Has the Best Reaction to Getting Emmy Nomination News During Pottery Class
Busy Philips, who plays Summer Dutkowsky in the comedy series Girls5eva, was shocked and filled with emotions when she found out that her show was nominated for two Emmy Awards.
The Emmy nominations were announced on July 17, revealing that her show was nominated in the categories of Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the song "The Medium Time" and Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series for the episode "Orlando."
While Philips didn't personally get a nomination, the actress had a strong reaction to the exciting news as she found out about the nominations for Girls5eva during a pottery class.
Sharing a photo on Instagram of herself crying with someone pointing at the tears falling down her face, Philips wrote, "90 percent sure my pottery studio thinks someone i love just died because i yelled WHAT and then started sobbing when i got the text that GIRLS5EVA WAS NOMINATED FOR 2 EMMY AWARDS????????."
She went on to praise the specific people nominated, including Sara Bareilles and Meredith Scardino, before reminding fans to watch the show.
"?HONEY, THE MAGIC ALWAYS WINS ?don’t you f------ forget that for a second. and VOLUME UP!!!!!" she concluded.

"This is amazing but y'all deserve to be nominated for best comedy!" a third wrote.
In particular, many fans of the show called out the Emmys for snubbing star Renée Elise Goldsberry in the acting category, with one writing on X, "a big 'DESERVED' for Girls5eva getting a writing nom at the Emmys but what on EARTH more does Renée Elise Goldsberry have to do to get on that acting list?!?!?!?!"
