This buzzy Old Town Scottsdale Italian restaurant closed after 1 year. Here's what we know
Piccolo Virtu — the baby sister restaurant to Virtu Honest Craft, chef Gio Osso's iconic Italian spot and 2014 James Beard Award nominee for "Best New Restaurant" — has closed after a year in business. Piccolo Virtu's last day was Dec. 9.
The Italian restaurant, which was Osso's latest concept, opened in December 2022 at 7240 E. Main St. in Old Town Scottsdale, serving small and large plates along with handmade pasta.
Piccolo Virtu was part of Old Town Scottsdale's ESPN Super Bowl tailgate party.
Osso announced the news in an Instagram post dated Dec. 12.
"It is with mixed emotions that we announce the sale of Piccolo Virtù. Our last service was Saturday night and we want to say thank you to all who made it happen and all who supported the restaurant. It might be the end of a chapter but there are more chapters to be written in the book of Virtù Hospitality!"
Virtu Honest Craft and Pizzeria Virtu, both also in Scottsdale, remain open.
We've reached out to Osso for comment.
