Caitriona Balfe, who led the series as the fierce Claire, shared an Instagram reel featuring shots of her and her costars Sam Heughan and Sophie Skelton, as well as a shot of her name placard for the reading.

"Here we are...11 years 101 episodes and a whole lotta love, sweat and tears (and some blood)," she wrote alongside the video. "Thank you @outlander_starz @sptv @samheughan @sophie.skelton @rikrankin @johnhunterbell @izzy_meikle @caitlinoryan and all the rest of our cast and crew and fans…. It’s been a journey and a half ?????????????? @nightmaril @matthew_b_roberts and all our writers and producers."

It wasn't just the cast getting emotional about their last table read either. Executive producer Maril Davis shared a wider shot of the principal cast gathered around the table with their scripts in what appears to be a massive historic home.

"What an emotional day," Davis wrote. "The last read thru for the last block of Outlander. Tears were shed (mine) but thankfully we provided Outlander hankies to dry those tears. Hard to imagine that our first official read thru was 11 years ago. The final countdown has begun."

Based on the bestselling novels by Diana Gabaldon, Outlander premiered on Starz in 2014, instantly attracting a rabid fan base that includes book lovers and newcomers alike.

The series follows World War II era nurse Claire, who travels back in time to 18th-century Scotland after an encounter with mysterious standing stones on her Highlands honeymoon. Thrust into the past, she meets Jamie Fraser and begins a love story that will span the centuries. Since its premiere, the show has followed Claire and Jamie (as well as their ever expanding family) from the Scottish Highlands to the court of Louis XIV to the Caribbean to 1960s Boston to the American colonies and now, the American Revolution.

Though fans shouldn't worry too much — a prequel Outlander — Blood of My Blood is also currently in production.
