Arrow stars Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards had a reunion in the action-packed trailer for Calamity Jane. Hailing from Samuel Goldwyn Films and Tubi, the upcoming Western thriller is scheduled to hit theaters and digital on February 2.

Focusing on the aftermath of the murder of American Old West’s folk hero Wild Bill Hickok, the forthcoming film will see Rickards play the titular sharpshooter, Martha Jane Canary — better known as Calamity Jane. Amell, on the other hand, plays Wild Bill.

What is Calamity Jane about?

Calamity Jane follows the title character’s quest to seek justice for Wild Bill’s death. However, according to the trailer, embarking on such a dangerous journey may require Calamity Jane to build two graves: “one for them and one for [herself].”

“After Wild Bill is killed in a poker game, Calamity Jane must break out of prison and seek revenge. Her quest is hindered by Deadwood’s Sheriff Mason, who is out to detain and arrest her,” the official synopsis for Calamity Jane reads.

Directed by Terry Miles and co-written by Leon Langford and Collin Watts, Calamity Jane also stars Tim Rozon (Schitt’s Creek) as Sheriff Mason, Priscilla Faia (You Me Her) as Abigail, Gage Marsh (It Lives Inside) as Deputy Paul, Garrett Black (Christmas on Cherry Lane) as Rudd, Christian Sloan (Superman & Lois) as Baron, Troy Mundle (Bucketheads) as Deputy Richard, and Spencer Borgeson (EXmas) as Floyd.

Amell and Rickards starred in The CW’s Arrow as Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak, respectively. The superhero series, which aired for eight seasons from 2012 to 2020, helped both stars’ careers take off. And now, Amell and Rickards will be seen together on one screen once again when Calamity Jane arrives on February 2.
