More than five months after his single-engine airplane crashed on a California golf course, Harrison Ford is well and flying again.

“He loves it, so I love it, and I support him 100 percent” Calista Flockhart said of her husband’s passion at the CBS TCA panel for Supergirl, in which she stars alongside Glee star Melissa Benoist, who plays the titular heroine.

Flockhart added that the Indiana Jones star, 73, is doing well, and she has even joined him in his plane.

Although Ford has recovered from his injuries, Flockhart told PEOPLE that the plane crash was a “really hard, scary time” for the family.

Ford suffered critical injuries when his vintage plane went down just minutes after he took of from Santa Monica Airport in March. A report recently released by the National Transportation Safety Board claims that engine malfunction was the cause of the crash.

“I think it just makes you realize once again that life can turn on a dime, and we just have to appreciate every second we’re here, because you never know.”

Flockhart, 50, said she cherishes the time she spends with her family and gushed about their 14-year-old son, Liam, revealing that he isn’t a big fan of Star Wars – yet.

“But he is very excited about seeing the new Star Wars now, now that he’s a bit older” she said. “And he’s going to be a huge Supergirl fan.”

Flockhart is just as excited about her return to television in the upcoming series, which is slated to air on CBS in October. She also said she now has a different perspective on work, compared with her days on Ally McBeal.

“I think I’m older and I think I’m wiser and I think my priorities have changed a lot,” she said. “I’m still really excited about the new show and I’m happy that I don’t have to carry the show.”

Another thing she’s thankful for? That the show is filmed in Los Angeles.

“I like coming home for dinner,” she quipped.
