Cameron Diaz and Husband Benji Madden Welcome Second Child
Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden are officially a family of four.
The couple took to Instagram on Friday to share the birth of their son, Cardinal. The actress and musician already share a daughter, Raddix, who was born in December 2019.

“We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden,” they wrote in a joint post. “He is awesome and We are all so happy he is here! For the kids safety and privacy we won’t be posting any pictures- but he’s a really cute We are feeling so blessed and grateful Sending much love from our fam to yours Best wishes and Good Afternoon!!”
The Instagram post also featured a colorful drawing with the words, “A little bird whispered to me.”
Benji’s brother Joel Madden, Pete Wentz, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry were among the celebrities who shared heartfelt reactions in their comments.
Diaz and Madden tied the knot in January 2015 and welcomed their first child nearly five years later. They wrote on social media at the time, “We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden.”
The pair, who mainly keep their relationship private, noted that they also planned to keep their daughter out of the spotlight, deciding not to share any photos of her online.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in October last year, Diaz called Madden the “best dad ever,” saying he loves to create songs for their daughter when he’s at home.
“I’m like, ‘You need to do like a kid’s album,'” the actress said. “Because he has, like, the best songs. They play in my head all the time because he sings them to her, and she knows the words, and it’s the sweetest thing ever.”
