Camila Cabello’s New Haircut, a Shaggy ‘Gainsbourg Bob,’ Channels Jane Birkin’s Daughter During Rabanne’s Show at Paris Fashion Week
Camila Cabello debuted a shorter ‘do on Wednesday at the Rabanne spring 2025 show, trading in her “Birkin bob” for a “Gainsbourg bob.”
The “I Luv It” singer glistened in a silver chainmail halter neck top and mini skirt. Accessories were simple, and included strappy silver heels and dangling earrings, which kept the spotlight on her new hair.

The musician first chopped her signature long locks less than a week ago, unveiling her “Birkin bob” at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival on Sept. 21. Four days later, Cabello went even shorter, her shaggy shoulder-length cut recalling Jane Birkin’s daughter, Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos was the first to give her the crop, christening it the “Birkin bob cut.” Giannetos also counts Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Alessandra Ambrosio as clients.
Cabello would have fit right in on the Rabanne spring 2025 runway, where dresses jingled and jangled down the catwalk, including one that scattered flakes of gold leaf as the model moved.
But there were also more wearable looks and a focus on playful masculine-meets-feminine layering. Mariner striped T-shirts, and light and airy dresses made of foiled silk organza, added a light touch to the collection.
The actress had a fan-girl moment before the runway, saying she’d love to collaborate on a song with the French-Malian singer Aya Nakamura.
“I love her song; ever since ‘Djadja’ came out, I’ve been a fan of hers,” she said, breaking into a tune. “I’d love to do a song with her,” she revealed to WWD, before taking her seat next to Cardi B, who was sporting Rapunzel-like blond waves for the occasion.
