Cardi B More Celebrities Reacting to the 2024 Presidential Election
With the 2024 Presidential Elections being determined so recently, we know some of you might be still coming to terms with what happened. After all, no matter who you were rooting for, Donald Trump‘s defeat over Kamala Harris as the 47th President of the United States marks the first president to regain power since Grover Cleveland in 1892.
But as the nation reacts to the news, and shares their excitement or disappointment with the results, celebrities are also speaking out.
From Christina Applegate and Jamie Lee Curtis to Zachary Levi, aka one of the few outspoken pro-Trump celebrities, many famous faces are sharing their take on what happened. To find out more, scroll below.

Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish spoke out against Trump’s second presidency in a statement on Instagram Stories. “It’s war on women,” the singer wrote. Short, but oh so telling.
Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande showed her support for her friends who are struggling with the election results. “Holding the hand of every person who is feeling the immeasurable heaviness of this outcome today,” the Wicked star wrote on Instagram Stories.
Later on, she also shared a graphic featuring the scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz. “Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking, don’t they?” the graphic said.
Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenter took some time during her show in Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena to show her support to her fans.
“I hope we can be a moment of peace for you, a moment of safety,” the “Espresso” singer said while kneeling on the stage, per Billboard. “Sorry about our country and to the women in here I love you so so so so so much and I really hope for the rest of this night that you can enjoy yourselves because you absolutely deserve it.”
Ethel Cain
Singer-songwriter Ethel Cain was vocal about her disappointment with the current state of American politics in a post on Tumblr.
“The problem is that America has beaten down its people for decades and gotten them weak and desperate and now promises a way out, a way to transcend and rise above, through selling out their fellow man,” Cain wrote. “An embarrassingly large chunk of white men are just straight-up nazis these days as a way to dissociate from the rest of the carnage around them, even if they’re broke and uneducated and from an impoverished background themselves. They’ll vote for and align themselves with anything for a taste of power and control that makes them feel a little less helpless. The same goes for minorities. They’ll punch down if they think it’ll get them somewhere, even if in reality they’re punching sideways.”
“I don’t know what else to say, really,” she continued. “Everybody is so incredibly hateful. We are a loveless, disrespectful nation. We are so spread thin by our government that we would sell each other out in a heartbeat for an ounce of relief. This is what we’ve come to.”
Ben Stiller
Ben Stiller reacted to the news with a quote on X. “‘ … is the coast ever clear?’ -Adjmi” he wrote.
Jimmy Kimmel
Jimmy Kimmel got candid about his reaction to the election in his monologue on Nov. 6.
“It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hard-working immigrants who make this country go, for health care, for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice, for free speech,” the talk-show host said. “It was a terrible night for poor people, for the middle class, for seniors who rely on social security, for our allies in Ukraine, for NATO, for the truth, and democracy and decency.”
“It was a terrible night for everyone who voted against him and, guess what, it was a bad night for everyone who voted for him too, you just don’t realize it yet,” Kimmel said.
“It was a really good night for Putin and for Polio and for lovable billionaires like Elon Musk and the bros up in Silicon Valley and all the wriggling brainworms who sold what was left of their souls to bow down to Donald Trump,” he said.
Christina Applegate
Christina Applegate, an actress who has been open about living with MS since 2021, wasn’t afraid to show her outrage on social media.
“Please unfollow me if you voted against female rights. Against disability rights. Yeah, that,” the actress wrote on X. “Unfollow me because what you did is unreal. Don’t want followers like this. So yeah. Done.”
In fact, in addition to not wanting any Trump voters to support her, Applegate seems ready to abandon social media altogether. “Also after today, I will be shutting down this fan account that I have had for so many years because this is sick,” she continued.
Prior to the election results being finalized, Applegate, who’s a mom to 13-year-old daughter Sadie Grace LeNoble, already showed her frustration.
“Why? Give me your reasons why?????” she wrote on X. “My child is sobbing because her rights as a woman may be taken away. Why? And if you disagree, please unfollow me.”
Cardi B
Cardi B, who showed her support for Harris during her campaign, kept her reaction short and sweet at first. Sharing a video of hers on Instagram Story in disbelief as she watched the news, the rapper wrote, “I hate yall bad.”
Shortly after, she shared a direct message to Harris herself. “To Vice President Kamala, no matter what they’ve said to bring you down or belittle your run for presidency they can never say you didn’t run your race with honesty and with integrity!”
“You really wanted better for ALL of us! This may not mean much but I am so proud of you!” she continued. “I never thought I would see the say that a woman of color would be running for the President of the United States, but you have shown me, and my daughters and women across the country that anything is possible.”
Jamie Lee Curtis
As a mom to her transgender daughter Ruby, actress Jamie Lee Curtis wasn’t afraid to call out what having Trump as president might mean for the future of the country, including trans youth.
In an Instagram post, Curtis said the future holds “a sure return to a more restrictive, some fear draconian time.”
“Many fear their rights will be impeded and denied. Many minority groups and young people will be afraid. Gay and trans people will be more afraid,” she continued. “We know that many women will now find it difficult to get the reproductive healthcare that they need and deserve. For all those people there will be those who will help you. Me included.”
Despite feelings of grief, Curtis wants her followers to stay strong and “wake up and fight.” “Fight for women and our children and their futures and fight against tyranny, one day at a time,” she wrote. “One fight at a time. One protest at a time. That’s what it means to be an American. That’s what it has always meant and will always mean regardless of the outcome.”
Yvette Nicole Brown
Community star Yvette Nicole Brown shared her take on the results as a Black woman herself.
“For us, this is an everyday Wednesday,” she wrote on X. “Black folks are used to this. The rest of you are about to be shocked by how America treats you when it doesn’t care about you.”
“And your new #DearLeader doesn’t care about ANY of you,” she added. “The find-out phase has begun.”
“Any hope in this country and what it could be someday is gone,” she said in another tweet. “It was founded as a racist nation made for white men only. It remains that. I see that now. My free labor for it is done.”
Sunny Hostin
Sunny Hostin was open about her concerns during the Nov. 6 episode of The View.
“I’m profoundly disturbed,” Hostin said of the election results, per Variety. “I think in 2016 we didn’t know what we would get from a Trump administration. We know now. We know now he will have almost unfettered power.”
“I worry not about myself actually,” she continued. “I don’t worry about my station in life. I worry about the working class. I worry about my mother, a retired teacher. I worry about our elderly and their social security and Medicare. I worry about my children’s future, especially my daughter who has less rights than I had.”
“As a woman of color, I was so hopeful that a mixed-race woman married to a Jewish guy could be elected president of this country,” she continued, speaking of Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhof. “It had nothing to do with policy. This was a referendum of cultural resentment in this country.”
Ana Navarro
Fellow The View co-host Ana Navarro also expressed her disappointment.
“I have no regrets,” the Nicaraguan-American host said, per Variety, “I worked hard as hell to elect the first Black, Asian woman president. History slipped through our fingers again. I worked hard as hell for Donald Trump not to be president. But today, unlike Donald Trump and his followers, I acknowledge that he won. I hope for the best for our country.”
“I make a commitment to our LGBTQ, to our immigrants, to our elderly, young girls, women, we will not stop fighting,” she continued, giving her listeners a message of unison and hope. “We can be sad today. Today we can be sad. Tomorrow we stand up and continue.”
Wendell Pierce
Wendell Pierce made it clear to his followers that electing Trump will not only have consequences for the next four years but for many years to come.
“Elections have consequences,” the former Suits star wrote on X. “The Supreme Court will be changed for a generation. I’ll never see a moderate court again in my lifetime. Alito and Thomas will step down and Trump will appoint 40-year-old partisans to the bench. The damage he is about to inflict on our institutions.”
“It is clear political pundits will go out of their way to rationalize the fact that the majority of Americans don’t have a problem with the fact that Donald Trump tried to overthrow the government,” he wrote in another tweet. “The majority of Americans did not have a problem with his racist remarks. The majority of Americans accept his xenophobia. The Democrats don’t have to move to the center. They are already there. Tax cuts for the middle class, housing subsidies, jobs, infrastructure, manufacturing. The only thing radical was GOP propaganda. This election wasn’t about the price of milk.”
Pierce also gave a shoutout to Vice President Harris, who was defeated last night.
“Madame Vice President you ran a great campaign,” he told the politician. “In 107 days you introduced yourself to the American people and defined what disqualified your opponent. You raised a billion dollars within a matter of days and put together a coalition of the most diverse group of American citizenry.
“You were our last best hope for an American aesthetic that millions of us are in pursuit of,” he continued. “I am honored to have been a part of this campaign and I look forward to working with you further to protect our democracy and form a more perfect union.”
Stephen King
Stephen King expressed his concern for democracy in his social media since the election.
“There’s a sign you can see in many shops that sell beautiful but fragile items: LOVELY TO LOOK AT, DELIGHTFUL TO HOLD, BUT ONCE YOU BREAK IT, THEN IT’S SOLD,” King wrote on X. “You can say the same about democracy.”
Sophia Bush
Sophia Bush has also been outspoken about not agreeing with the election results.
“Great job giving the MAGA gang more power, America,” she wrote on X. “Wonder how many folks are seeing this and STILL saying ‘But but but at least he’s not a Black woman!’ in the privacy of their homes tonight.”
“My heart is broken,” the actress added.
Lili Reinhart
In her reaction to the elections, Riverdale Lili Reinhart showed her support to the over 25 women who have spoken out accusing Trump of sexual abuse over the years.
“I cannot fathom the feeling of the women who came forward about their sexual assault at the hands of Trump. Seeing millions of people vote for their abuser,” she wrote on X. “My heart absolutely breaks for these women. I believe you, and I am so sorry.”
Zachary Levi
Zachary Levi, one of the few stars who expressed their support for Trump, celebrated his reelection on social media.
“Honestly, I don’t really feel vindication, because I didn’t need a win to know that I was fighting for what’s right,” Levi wrote on X. “Win or lose, I was going to follow the conviction and calling that God put in and on me from the time I was born.”
“That said, I am so incredibly grateful to, and proud of, every one of you who saw thru all the noise, and chose to vote for @realDonaldTrump,” he continued. “There’s still much work to be done though. And I won’t stop fighting. Ever. ??”
Mark Cuban
Mark Cuban, who’s been open about his support for Trump ahead of the election, congratulated him on his win.
“Congrats @realDonaldTrump,” he wrote on X. “You won fair and square. Congrats to @elonmusk as well.”
