Carey Hart says Pink had 'a hard time breathing' with coronavirus: 'It totally attacked her lungs'

Pink's husband Carey Hart has revealed just how seriously ill the singer and their 3-year-old son, Jameson, were with COVID-19. The motorcycle racer called into SiriusXM’s The Jason Ellis Show and provided an update on how his family is doing after fighting the coronavirus.

"It was intense," Hart said on Monday. "They both got extremely sick. My son probably got the worst of the two of them."

Hart said his son's case "debunks the whole theory [coronavirus] only hits old people."

"My wife got it pretty bad, as well," he said of the 40-year-old musician. "She has preexisting — she has asthma. It totally attacked her lungs and her chest. She was having a hard time breathing."

Pink is a lifelong asthmatic and was hospitalized for the condition as a child.

Hart explained the family had been on "full lockdown" since he returned from Daytona, Fla., on March 11. A few days after he got back, Pink and Jameson started exhibiting symptoms.

"My son kind of took a turn to the worse," Hart shared, explaining Jameson had a high fever for a "solid" two or three weeks.

Pink and Hart, 44, are also parents to 8-year-old daughter, Willow.

"I have zero symptoms, my daughter had zero symptoms. Unfortunately, we only had access to a test for my wife," Hart revealed. He said they are operating under the belief all four of them had COVID-19, although he and Willow were asymptomatic.

"We just kind of took the lead on my wife's test," Hart noted.

Last week, Pink talked to Ellen Degeneres about the "terrifying" experience, calling it "the scariest thing I’ve ever, ever been through in my whole life."

Jameson developed symptoms first, including a fever, "stomach pains and then diarrhea and then chest pains."

"It was sort of all over the place. Every day it was some new symptom," she told DeGeneres.

Two days later, Pink became sick. She had fatigue, chills, nausea and a sore throat, but never a fever.

"I never had what they tell you to look for," she revealed.

However, Pink's inability to breathe got so severe at one point she thought she might die.

"I’m like: Oh, my god. Wow. All the crazy stuff I did [during my life and] this is it? This is the way it ends?" she thought.

Luckily, both the singer and Jameson have made a full recovery.
