Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley tease Trump with hilarious music parody
Country music superstars Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley hosted the 51st Annual CMA Awards. And we soon learned that their claim of a “politics-free” show, was fake news.
During the opening monologue, Underwood had claimed “This is a politics free zone.” But her co host, Paisley, couldn’t resist.
With his guitar in hand, Paisley sang a parody of Underwood’s smash hit, “Before He Cheats.” The the parody was themed around Donald Trump‘s twitter habits.
Paisley sang, “Right now, he’s probably in his PJs, watching cable news, reaching for his cell phone/Right now, he’s probably asking Siri: ‘How in the hell do you spell “Pocahontas”?’/… In the middle of the night from the privacy of a gold-plated White House toilet seat/he writes Lil’ Bob Corker, NFL, and covfefe…”
Underwood jumped and belted out a stunning “covfefe.”
The two finished out the parody, singing ““And it’s fun to watch, yeah, that’s for sure/’til little Rocket Man starts a nuclear war … and then maybe next time, he’ll think before he tweets.”
The 51st Annual CMA Awards were aired live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena Wednesday, Nov. 8.
