Carrie Underwood responds to dis of her 'Sunday Night Football' theme song: 'Hey, I know my music isn't for everyone'
Carrie Underwood could have just ignored it when Jessica Smetana, a producer and showrunner for Sports Illustrated, mentioned her Sunday night on Twitter. But the country star didn’t.
Smetana’s comment was about Underwood’s theme song for the NFL’s Sunday Night Football, which plays ahead of Sunday night games on NBC.
I love that NBC has been reading everyone’s Collinsworth slide tweets because it means they’ve also been reading all the tweets about how much we hate the new Carrie Underwood song

Fans had mixed reactions to the updated recording when it premiered in September.
The morning after Smetana’s comment, Underwood pointed out that she appreciates women who “build other women up.”
Hey, I know my music isn’t for everyone, but I love what I do and I love being a part of @SNFonNBC ! ?? I am one lucky lady! I also love women who build other women up…just saying…👍 https://t.co/F4yuNGKj0M

Immediately after, the “Before He Cheats” singer sent some good vibes for the week ahead.
Today, let’s be positive. Let’s be NICE to each other. Let’s do something nice FOR someone else. Smile at a stranger. It’s the start of a new week! Today is precious! Don’t waste it! Sending love and cheer to you all!!! ?????? #LoveWins

A couple of hours after Underwood’s tweet, Smetana apologized for her statement, saying that she hadn’t meant to “upset Carrie or her fans.” Smetana added that she’s all about supporting women too and that she simply misses the old theme song.
Sorry that I dissed ‘Game On’ in my tweet about Cris Collinsworth’s slides. I didn’t mean to upset Carrie or her fans, and I’m all about supporting women too. I just miss ‘Waiting all day for Sunday Night.’

Underwood’s next posts reinforced what she had said. The expectant mom of one, 3-year-old Isaiah, applauded two of her loyal fans.
Still, everyone involved had to enjoy this quip about the situation.
Wait until they dig their key into the side of your pretty little souped up four wheel drive………Maybe next time you’ll think before you tweeeeet
