Cassie And Diddy Settle Sexual And Physical Abuse Lawsuit For Undisclosed Amount
Update: 12:52 p.m. PT (Nov. 18, 2023) – Ben Brafman, an attorney representing Sean “Diddy” Combs, has released a statement to confirm that the settlement doesn’t equate to an admission of guilt.
“Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing,” wrote Brafman in an emailed statement. “Mr. Combs‘ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”

Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and Sean “Diddy” Combs have amicably settled the lawsuit she filed on Thursday afternoon (Nov. 16) for an undisclosed amount, reports The New York Times. The full terms of the settlement also remain confidential. Both parties issued statements regarding the resolution on Friday evening.
“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support,” said Ventura, 37.
Combs, 54, stated, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
NY Times noted that with the settlement, Combs evades a “risky and potentially embarrassing process of legal discovery — in which reams of evidence are made public — and a possible trial” while Ventura avoids a cross-examination.
Douglas Wigdor, a lawyer for Ms. Ventura, also issued a statement on the matter. “I am very proud of Ms. Ventura for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit. She ought to be commended for doing so,” he expressed.
In the lawsuit, the mother of two accused Combs of several heinous acts, including rape, sex trafficking, and years of domestic violence. The two began dating in 2005 when she was 19— when he was 18 years her senior—one year after signing to Bad Boy Records in a 10-album deal. She was reportedly “lured into an ostentatious, fast-paced, and drug-fueled lifestyle” while in her relationship. Ventura described her ex-boyfriend as being a “vicious, cruel, and controlling man.”
Ventura claimed he intrusively accessed her personal medical records, demanded that she “procure illicit prescriptions” to satisfy his addictions, and forced her to have sexual relationships with a “succession of male prostitutes” as Combs watched, masturbated, and recorded the encounters. She also alleged that he and staff of the Combs Global mogul masterminded “extensive efforts” to hide evidence of the physical abuse, which included obtaining hotel surveillance.
According to the suit, “By Mr. Combs’s own admission, his relationship with Ms. Ventura was like ‘Bobby and Whitney.'” His attorney Ben Brafman stated, “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations.”
