Cassie Ventura is reportedly preparing to make a musical comeback amid Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest on federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

According to The Daily Mail, sources say that Ventura is looking to move past her traumatic and abusive relationship with Combs and put the focus back on her music, as she feels empowered in the wake of the disgraced music mogul’s downfall.

The singer’s decision was also influenced by various music executives she believed to be tied to Combs potentially derailing her career. “Cassie is considering making a comeback to music now that Diddy is behind bars and some of the executives who were his lackeys are resigning,” the source told the outlet.

Ventura, 38, reportedly has plans to release vaulted material that she’s been working on over the years, and is currently seeking a deal under which she’ll make her musical return.

“She has so many unreleased records that she wants to release if the timing and business is right,” the source added. “She couldn’t have imagined her career would have been stalled in the way it was when her first album came out.”

Originally discovered by singer, songwriter and producer Ryan Leslie, Ventura landed on the scene during the mid ’00s, signing a deal with Combs and Bad Boy Records. Releasing her self-titled debut album in 2006, Cassie saw instant success, as the album peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

Producing the hit single, “Me & U,” which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the popular follow-up, “Long Way 2 Go,” the album remains Cassie’s lone full-length musical release of her career.

In the years after Cassie’s debut, she would enter a romantic relationship with Combs that ultimately became physically and mentally abusive, as the mogul is said to have been controlling of Ventura and her whereabouts during their time as a couple.

After breaking ties with Combs in 2019, Ventura filed a bombshell lawsuit against Combs in 2023, in which she detailed his alleged sexually abusive behavior, including rape and forcing her to commit sex acts with male prostitutes.

Combs and Ventura would settle the $30 million lawsuit a day after it went public, but Combs has since been hit with dozens of other allegations of sexual and physical violence against multiple parties, including minors.

In September, he was arrested on federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges and is currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center as he awaits trial. Combs has plead not guilty and maintains his innocence on all charges.
