Catch a ‘Stranger Things’ Haunted Lyft Ride Here (Video)
Spoiler Alert: Do not watch the video above or read below if you want to be surprised by what happens inside a “Stranger Things” Lyft ride. Mini spoiler: It’s cool.
Tipsy Wonder Women, Handmaids, unicorns, and Hugh Hefners shuttling between Halloween parties will find something strange when they open their Lyft app this weekend.

Riders in Los Angeles and Philadelphia can choose an ominous red option called “Strange” next to the usual “Line,” “Plus,” “Premiere,” and SUV offerings.
The result: An immersive real-world haunted-house style experience ripped from the plotline of “Stranger Things”.
Channel in to a chatty driver talking about his bike riding youth in Indiana, followed by some technical interference with electronics and lighting, increasing to physical dislocation that would require a disclaimer if it were a ride at Disney World — all on four wheels.

“Lyft is a company that is all about creating experiences for our passengers,” said Ethan Eyler, Director of Ride Experience at Lyft. “We like to think of the car as our stage and that is just what we did in partnership with Netflix, by creating a spooky ride for Stranger Things 2.”

The hit Netflix series returns tomorrow (Friday, Oct. 27) following a massive street-closing premiere in Westwood on Thursday night.
Can I Punk My Friends?
Yes.
The person ordering the Lyft will know that they have opted in to “Strange Mode,” but it does not require that all riders know what they are getting in to.
The “Strange Mode” will operate only in Los Angeles and Philadelphia from 4-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28. It costs the same as a normal Lyft ride.
It comes with more free food than a coach class airline ticket… although we suggest you don’t put it anywhere near your mouth.
