Cate Blanchett’s Best Venice Film Festival Looks

The Venice Film Festival red carpet should come with a disclaimer: Cate Blanchett always comes to slay.

The Oscar-winning actress is a ubiquitous presence at European film festivals like Cannes and Venice, to the latter of which she is scheduled to return this year as the star of Alfonso Cuaron’s new Apple TV+ limited series Disclaimer. That means she will undoubtedly turn out some show-stopping custom looks on the Lido like she always does. A longtime muse of Giorgio Armani, Blanchett often picks Armani ensembles here though she’s also been known to re-wear gowns from her personal archive as a way to promote sustainability, eco-conscious moves made arm-in-arm with longtime stylist Elizabeth Stewart.

In Disclaimer, Blanchett stars opposite Kevin Kline, Sacha Baron Cohen, Lesley Manville, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Louis Partridge, Gemma Jones and others in the story of a famed documentary journalist who discovers that she is a prominent character in a novel, one that reveals a secret she has tried to keep hidden.

The series will premiere in Venice on Thursday. Ahead of her imminent arrival in Venice, The Hollywood Reporter put together a fashion flashback to revisit some of her best festival looks of years past.
