Catherine Zeta-Jones Posts Emotional Birthday Tribute to Her Son, Dylan
Catherine Zeta-Jones is wishing her son, Dylan, the happiest of birthdays.
Last week, the proud mom, 54, shared a sweet tribute to Dylan on Instagram. Set to John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)," the post features footage of baby Dylan being cuddled by his mom. She wrote, "Happy 24th Birthday to my son, @dylan__douglas. The joy and love you give me every day is insurmountable. To be your Mama is a gift that I never take for granted. I love you, my beautiful boy."
Fans flooded the comments section with their well-wishes and heart emojis, but they weren't the only ones to celebrate the occasion. Zeta-Jones's husband, Michael Douglas, also shared a tribute, featuring a recent portrait of Dylan in a cowboy hat. Michael wrote, "Wow @dylan__douglas! 24! You’re moving fast my son! Wishing you a very happy birthday from a proud Father!"
Zeta-Jones also took to her IG Stories and made a cheeky joke about welcoming her son with her husband. She shared a black-and-white throwback and wrote, "The best production we have ever been involved in."
She added, "Dylan thinks Wall Street tops it! I'm on the fence."
During her 2022 interview with Parade, Zeta-Jones confirmed that both her son and her daughter, Carys (21) are looking to follow in their parents' footsteps. She said, "They’d love to join the business! My son has done theater production since high school. They’ve both been to drama camp. But they also love learning and are history buffs. My son graduated from Brown University this year and he studied political science. He’s doing internships and working on political PACs. My daughter is currently studying foreign relations and diplomacy at school. They got their brains from me, though my husband likes to differ."
As for how they've navigated having two famous parents, the actress says, "My kids know that daddy and mommy are part of a very small percentage of a huge industry that actually got to a certain point. And they know about celebrity-dom. So, they don’t want to be famous; they just want to be good actors. But look, it’s hard to be the son or daughter of anybody. You don’t have to be in Hollywood."
