CBS president says Pauley Perrette's drama with Mark Harmon was 'resolved': 'I don't think she'd be back with us if she had huge concerns'
Pauley Perrette may still be “terrified” of her former NCIS co-star Mark Harmon, but as far as CBS is concerned, the situation has been “resolved.”
CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl was asked about Perrette’s tweets last month saying she still has “nightmares” from working with Harmon. The trouble reportedly stemmed from an incident in which Harmon’s dog bit a crew member on the set, but in the actress’s tweets, she cited “multiple physical assaults” as the reason behind her decision to leave the show last year. Perrette, who had appeared on the show for 15 seasons, went on to say that she sought “lots of therapy” after exiting the crime show, and referenced an unidentified “machine” for “feeding FALSE stories about me” to the press after her departure.
That is all in the past though Kahl said at the TCA Summer Press Tour on Thursday.
“I can’t speak to what she’s addressing in her tweets,” he told reporters. “We’re very happy to have her on the air again this year with us. I don’t think she would be back with us if she had huge concerns.”
He added, “She did come to us a couple of years ago with a workplace concern,. We immediately investigated it and resolved it to everyone’s satisfaction.”
The “back with us” references Perrette’s new show on the network called Broke, a comedy that will be a mid-season replacement during the upcoming 2019-2020 TV season. It’s about a trust fund brat (played by Jaime Camil), who gets cut off, so he and his wife (Natasha Leggero) move in with her estranged sister, played by Perrette.
In Perrette tweets about her negative experience at the end of NCIS, she noted that Broke, on the other hand, was in a “SAFE AND HAPPY” environment.
Earlier this week she reiterated that in a post about meeting the new writers on the comedy. She also called her new co-stars “AWESOME PEOPLE.”
Meeting with all our writers on my new @CBS show BROKE. So excited! Love working with @jaimecamil @natashaleggero @TheIzzyDiaz @Toniocorbo AWESOME PEOPLE!https://t.co/R9rJT3sCJG
