Celebrate National Video Games Day With People Playing Video Games in Movies
It’s National Video Games Day, and what better way to celebrate than by watching a supercut of characters playing video games in movies?
Video games in movies took off in the ’80s with films like WarGames and The Last Starfighter featuring video games as pivotal plot points. In the ’90s, video games were put in movies more for comedic purposes, like with Swingers and Mallrats. That trend has continued into films of the past decade or so with hilarious moments in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Grandma’s Boy, Superbad, and The Avengers.
So it’s on this day we encourage you to go inside and sit on the couch while we punch in some cheat codes and bring you these movie video game scenes.
