Celebrities at Cannes Film Festival 2024: PHOTOS
The 2024 Cannes Film Festival, which officially began on May 14, will surely see countless stars. In addition to all the actors and actresses from the selected movies, including Yorgos Lanthimos’ latest Kinds of Kindness and the Selena Gomez-starring Emilia Pérez, this year also has an impressive jury and honorary Palm d’Or recipient.
In the jury, Barbie director Greta Gerwig will serve as President over an impressive lineup. The jurors include Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone, actress Eva Green, Lupin star Omar Sy, and many others.
As for the honorary Palm d’Or recipient, Meryl Streep was honored with the title Tuesday night. After hopping on stage following a career retrospective video, Streep said it all gave her perspective. “[The video is] like looking out the window of a bullet train, watching my youth fly into my middle age, right onto where I am standing on this stage tonight,” she said, per Variety.
Later on, the Oscar winner said she’s “just so grateful that you haven’t gotten sick of my face and you haven’t gotten off the train.”
