Celebrities Who Are Friends With Their Siblings
If you have siblings, you know all too well that sibling rivalry is real. But you also know that siblings make the best friends — and a ton of celebrities clearly feel the same way. Some of these stars with built-in BFFs won’t come as any surprise. Like, c’mon, has anyone managed to miss the one million Instagram posts from the Kardashian-Jenners reflecting what a tight-knit crew they are (sans the occasional spat between Kim and Kourtney). Did you realize Jessica Alba’s brother is her bestie, though?
It actually makes a lot of sense that celebrities might lean on their siblings more than most. Fame can be a weird world to navigate. There’s intense scrutiny. Stars undoubtedly feel like they always have to be “on.” Having someone in their corner who understands all the quirky, more personal parts of their personality — the ones they’re able to keep out of the public eye — must be comforting. And for some celebrities, they have the added benefit of having a celebrity who also understands the business.
Maybe Liam and Chris Hemsworth vent to each other during their downtime back home in Australia about having their love lives dissected in headlines. Kate and Oliver Hudson even launched a podcast together. Solange Knowles and Beyoncé won’t let anything come between them.
Whether their siblings are also famous or are vital links to life outside of Hollywood, the stars in this gallery enjoy having their brothers and sisters in their social circle.

“What an honor to be able to support my sister with our family in the greatest performance of her career!” Robyn wrote about the It Ends With Us premiere on Instagram. “She brings such levity and grace to this heartbreaking performance and also leaves you feeling empowered and hopeful. I literally watched her pour her heart and soul into this film, surviving on little to no sleep. You cannot fathom the work she put into this in front of and behind the camera. Her DNA is sprinkled throughout like magical fairy dust. I honestly don’t know how she does it all. I’m bursting with pride!”

He’s particularly close to his brother, Doug, who’s even poked fun at his famous brother in TV commercials over the years. Per People, Doug once starred in a Virgin Mobile commercial that joked that Doug was “the second-most famous Pitt” who lived an ordinary life. “When this came along, we kind of talked for about a month,” he told Nova FM. “When I finally thought, ‘Okay, I think we’re going to do this,’ I did call him and … [Brad was] like, ‘Hey, sounds fun. Go do it.'”

Derek & Julianne Hough
With similar career paths as dancers, Derek Hough and Julianne Hough have had some ups and downs over the years. But throughout it all, they’ve always supported each other.
“The thing that hurts the most is when we’re not connected,” Julianne told People of their relationship. “And so sometimes you do the thing that hurts the most, which is remove yourself because you’re trying to protect yourself. So our family is like any other family. We have our situations and our s—, but our deepest desire is to connect. And I think we all really have a strong desire to make that happen.”
Nowadays, the two work together on Dancing with the Stars. Derek is a judge while Julianne is a co-host!

Kate & Oliver Hudson
Kate Hudson and her brother Oliver Hudson are both actors and successful ones at that. But, for Oliver, that doesn’t mean being her sibling didn’t come with any jealousy.
“There’s always a part of me that’s just like, ‘F— man. Why can’t I do that? I wanna do a role like that. I wanna work with people like that. I wanna make that kinda money,’” he once admitted in their Sibling Rivalry podcast, per People. Jealousy aside, these two are the closest things to best friends.

Elizabeth, Ashley & Mary Kate Olsen
Marvel fans around the world might’ve been shocked when they found out that Elizabeth Olsen was actually the younger sister to Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen. And while the twins might keep a low-profile in Hollywood, they’ve been instrumental in Elizabeth’s life.
“I always felt that having older twin sisters was an advantage,” she told Harper’s Bazaar UK. “I felt very clear about how I was going to navigate lots of things because of watching them. I also felt very protected.”
“I actually think it’s an amazing feeling, being the younger sibling to twin sisters,” she said of her sister, who are two and a half years older. “If I was spoiled by one, the other wanted to match it. I loved it.”
Kayleen & Rachel McAdams
Rachel McAdams’ younger sister isn’t just her best friend, she’s her makeup artist too!
“You are truly one of the hardest working women I have ever met and I think you get that from our dad, who shovels the snow off the driveway before it even hits the ground,” Rachel once said of her sister at Variety’s Makeup Artistry Dinner in 2020. “You are so kind-hearted, you are fiercely loyal.”
Dakota & Elle Fanning
Growing up as child actors with now ultra-successful careers, Dakota and Elle Fanning have been there for each other no matter what.

Luke & Owen Wilson
Luke and Owen Wilson are another pair of famous celebrity siblings who are super close. In fact, back in 2022, they even lived together while working on different projects in Atlanta.
“It was fun,” Owen told Today, per People. “It all comes rushing back to you, what you love about the guy and then what can also drive you crazy.”
“It was nice that we were both there working on things and you have someone to go to dinner with and watch games with, and argue with,” he admitted. “There was a lot of arguing.”
Liam, Chris, & Luke Hemsworth
The Hemsworth family has produced not one, not two but three actors who totally took over the industry. Growing up, however, Liam Hemsworth, Chris Hemsworth, Luke Hemsworth were true troublemakers. “[I was] one of [the troublemakers],” Chris once said in an interview with Vanity Fair. “One of three.”
Gigi & Bella Hadid
Over the years, Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid have become two of the most celebrated supermodels in the world. But, just like the closest siblings, they’ve been known to bicker sometimes too.
“Well it’s inevitable to fight, but it’s always to know [that] you’re going to come back from it,” Bella said of The Drew Barrymore Show of her sister. “And that is what’s so important about my sister and I going through life like we’re best friends. And regular sister stuff, like stealing clothes, getting the front seat, what music we were gonna listen to. She was a Swiftie, I loved Lil Wayne, that was really hard for the school drives,” she joked.
Lupita & Peter Nyong’o
Remember the iconic Oscars selfie back in 2014? Well, Lupita Nyong’o’s brother Peter is in the photo alongside some major A-listers as he attended the event as his sister’s plus-one.
The pair have clearly been close ever since.
In 2020, when Peter tied the knot, the Oscar winner celebrated the moment with her followers. “Yup, he is off the market, folks!” Lupita wrote on Instagram, per Entertainment Tonight. “Sharing a moment of joy in my family’s life when my sweet, gentle, loving baby brother @juniornyongo made his declaration of love to his new bride @wanjawohoro this week. Welcome to the family, Wanja!”

After a hiatus in 2013 to pursue their solo careers (Joe and Nick) and start a family (Kevin), the trio got back together in 2019 and have been selling out stadiums and releasing new music ever since. There’s nothing as close as a world tour, right?
Scott & Chris Evans
Another talented sibling duo in this list is Chris Evans and his Barbie star brother, Scott Evans.
“We were each other’s first friends when we were kids. Up until we were older, too. There was never a time where it didn’t feel like he wasn’t my best friend. And he still is,” Scott told Attitude of their bond. “And we have a really, really, incredibly unique bond that I love.”
“I think the relationship between brothers can be very unique,” he continued. “It feels like a best friend as opposed to feeling that you have to love someone because they’re family.”
“I used to go to him with all my problems,” he said. “And I get calls now from him with his problems. And I love it. I’m like, ‘I’ll give you advice? You’re Captain America!’ “

Ashlee Simpson & Jessica Simpson
Ashlee Simpson and her sister Jessica have been through their own rollercoasters in the industry. Luckily, they’ve always had each other for support.

You looked, sounded, and moved like you never missed a day on stage. It was simply EPIC!”
