With shows that include "Kitchen Nightmares," "Hell's Kitchen," "Hotel Hell" and "The F Word," plus a penchant for getting in the face of chefs and restauranteurs, Gordon Ramsay walking into your restaurant might not necessarily generate warm and fuzzy feelings.

There was no scene or crying workers, however, when the celebrity chef and television personality strolled into Benny's on the Beach last Friday.

His first stop in fact, was not the popular eatery located on the Lake Worth Pier, it was the pier itself where he took his son out to do some fishing.

When he was done though, he stopped in for a slice of the restaurant's homemade Key Lime Pie. He remarked it was some of the best he'd ever had.

Though the staff later joked on social media that he'd also had an "Idiot Sandwich," that was in jest referencing a Ramsay skit with James Corden and Julie Chen in which the chef holds two slices of bread against Chen's head and makes her call herself an "idiot sandwich."

Benny's Chef and managing partner Jeremy Hanlon said Ramsay knew who he was even before he introduced himself and even knew that in addition to Benny's that he had recently opened another eatery, Viva La Playa, just down the street.

Hanlon, who bought Benny's in 2013 with partner Lee Lipton, said he is proud of his staff and glad that Ramsay could see their restaurant.

As far as Ramsay, he was likely in town early for the celebrity-filled wedding of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz. Ramsay was a guest at the ceremony that took place at Nelson Peltz's oceanfront estate in Palm Beach.
