Celtic-punk act Flogging Molly coming to Fox Theater

Flogging Molly will bring its Celtic-inspired rock to the Fox Theater on Oct. 9.

The local stop falls near the tail-end of the band's fall tour between shows in Ventura (Oct. 8) and San Jose (Oct. 11).

Expanding beyond its roots as the house band for Molly Malone's in Los Angeles, Flogging Molly earned its place in the punk scene over the last 20-plus years, building a strong following through endless touring.

Band members are Dave King on lead vocals, acoustic guitar and bodhran; Bridget Regan, violin, tin whistle and vocals; Dennis Casey, guitar and vocals; Matt Hensley, accordion, concertina and vocals; Nathen Maxwell, bass guitar and vocals; Spencer Swain, mandolin, banjo, guitar and vocals; and Mike Alonso, drums and percussion.

The band released seven studio albums including its latest, "Anthem" in 2022. Last year, it released '"Til The Anarchy's Restored" EP, which features the previously unreleased title track and one-take performances of the band's classic songs "Drunken Lullabies" and "What's Left of the Flag."

Flogging Molly also organizes an annual Salty Dog Cruise, a tradition since 2014, which has quickly sold out the last few years. Last year, the band added the Shamrock Rebellion, its own St Patrick's Day Festival in Orange County and Las Vegas, to its resume.

Joining the band on the fall tour dates is the Rumjacks.

Doors open at 7 p.m, the show is at 8 p.m. Oct. 9 at the theater, 2001 H St.

Tickets, ranging from $45 to $60, go on sale Friday at axs.com, by phone at 661-324-1369 and the Fox box office (open 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays).
