Chace Crawford Says “Gossip Girl ”Costars Penn Badgley and Ed Westwick 'Would Fit Right in' on “The Boys” (Exclusive)
Crawford, Badgley and Westwick portrayed Nate Archibald, Chuck Bass and Dan Humphrey, respectively, in the hit teen drama from 2007 to 2012
The boys of Gossip Girl would blend in well on The Boys — at least according to Chace Crawford.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2024 on Friday, July 26, the 39-year-old actor revealed that he would be down to reconcile with his former costars in the raunchy superhero drama — and theorized about what their cameos would look like.
When asked if he would be open to a Gossip Girl reunion on the Prime Video series, Crawford told PEOPLE he would be, and it would have to include Penn Badgley and Ed Westwick.

“It’d have to be Ed or Penn, you know what I mean? It’d have to be one of them,” he said, adding that Westwick, 37, especially “would fit right in that world.”
Crawford, who played Nate Archibald in Gossip Girl and currently portrays The Deep in The Boys, also explored what Westwick’s potential “supe” would look like.
“He'd be a funny … he could be Batman,” the star told PEOPLE. “Batman, or like a play on Batman would be really, really funny. You know what I mean? Like a dark Batman.”

A Bruce Wayne-esque character would be an appropriate extension of Westwick’s portrayal of bad-boy hotel heir Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl. Badgley, 37, meanwhile, played Dan Humphrey in the hit teen drama, which aired from 2007 to 2012.
Crawford did not say anything about the show’s other main characters, Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), or what roles they could take on in the superhero series.
Also at Comic-Con, it was announced that Crawford will appear in The Boys spinoff Gen V's second season, reprising his role as The Deep. He will be joining other actors who have crossed over from The Boys, including Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and P.J. Byrne.
Outside of Gen V and a newly announced prequel series, Vought Rising, The Boys will come to an end after season 5.
During the premiere of its fourth season in June, showrunner Eric Kripke confirmed this on X (formerly Twitter), writing that it was "always my plan.”

“I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought,” he wrote. “Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax with a nod to the evil corporation at the center of his series.”
