Chad Michael Murray Talks 'Outlaws and Angels,' Looks Back at Beloved TV Shows
Chad Michael Murray isn’t the most obvious candidate to headline a gritty, bloody Western. He’s a Northerner from Buffalo, N.Y., best known for playing clean-cut heartthrobs on TV favorites like Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill.
But Murray, 34, grew up on the genre. As he told us in today’s Facebook Live interview, his father would often show him Clint Eastwood cowboy classics like A Fistful of Dollars. And now he stars in the new Western Outlaws and Angels… opposite an Eastwood. Murray plays the scrappy Henry, part of a band of robbers on the run who invade a frontier family’s home, where he falls for the clan’s teenage daughter, played by Francesca Eastwood.
Watch the full interview above to see Murray talk about what made Outlaws worth growing out the beard and strapping on the boots, an upcoming One Tree Hill reunion in North Carolina, if he’ll return for Netflix’s Gilmore Girls reboot (sadly, nope), and his fearless prediction for the Buffalo Bills this season.
Outlaws and Angels opens July 15. Watch an exclusive clip:
