Chaka Khan attended the Nordoff and Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards 2024 held in London today. The “Through The Fire” singer was given the Global Live Music award during the ceremony.
Getting edgy, the hallowed performer donned a pair of black boots hailing from Stella McCartney. The Ryder stretch bootie style was constructed out of glossy black material and featured unique square molded toes made to resemble hooves, grungy silver studding just above the soles, zip-up closures on the sides and thin 3-inch stiletto heels.
Whether knee length or otherwise, the leather boot silhouette is commonplace in many celebrities’ wardrobes, especially during the fall and winter seasons. Khan’s style offered her ensemble a subversive twist, livening up her look and providing a youthfulness.
Currently retailing for $273.75 on Nordstrom’s website, the Ryder bootie is also available in a beige hue. Additionally, the designer item is available in a lacquered high-gloss style in black and tan. A myriad of McCartney’s footwear, accessories and apparel are all made with sustainable practices in mind. It’s likely the Ryder bootie is no exception. The shoe is not unlike a sock boot from the likes of Balenciaga or Alexander Wang, given the silhouette’s form-fitted construction.
Going monochrome, Khan donned a dramatic black dress in a maxi length fixed with a drop waist and a gathered skirt. The garment was belted, creating a defined silhouette. The “I Feel for You” singer also toted a matching black leather bag in a slouchy style and large sunglasses featuring purple-tinted lenses and thick black frames. Khan’s look was classic, elevated with the addition of stellar accessories.
The O2 Silver Clef Awards is a prestigious annual event held by the UK’s largest music therapy charity, Nordoff and Robbins. Since 1976 the awards have raised nearly £13 million for transformative music therapy services for children and adults across the UK.
