The Challenge: USA Recap: TJ Stuns the Players With a Game-Changing Twist
No one in The Challenge: USA saw that coming!
A huge twist has shaken up the game in a major way, but before we get to that, another round of applause for our man Wes here! After returning to the house, Cassidy and Wes hug it out and declare a cease-fire, but when Wes walks away, Cassidy gives the camera a nasty look. Guess she didn’t buy Wes’ “I just want to play fair” speech that he made a meal of. (Honestly, if she’s seen any of the show’s past seasons, she’s right to not trust him.)

Michaela, meanwhile, is also serving him a sour attitude. He asks her what he did to deserve her poor treatment, but she says, “I don’t treat you bad at all. What have I done to you?” Okaaay. Wes then tells her he’s never understood where she’s coming from and she responds with: “Good to know.” Welp! He may be back in the game, but he still has an uphill battle ahead.
DAILY CHALLENGE | In “Wreck & Roll,” two players start inside a giant sphere, in which they must knock down all of their team’s colored columns throughout a course. On top of the pillars are tires with letters on them. The other team members must collect the tires and complete a puzzle that will spell out a whole bunch of words horizontally and vertically.
Channelle and Cory enter the sphere for Red, while Green’s Alyssa S. and Monte, and Blue’s Tori and Faysal also get to smashing. It’s neck and neck for a bit until Blue runs away with it once again, leaving members of Green and Red frustrated and worried.
NOMINATIONS | Josh pitches Faysal a plan to pit Chanelle and Michaela against each other, which would help break up the house’s huge Survivor alliance. When the Blue team meet to discuss noms, the MTV vets take control, and Tyler and Michaela are picked for possible elimination.
Michaela blames the vote on Josh, despite the fact that he’s on the Red team. She knows the whole house is protecting him and she has no problem calling it out. But for Josh, Michaela is Survivor strong, and for all of the players who haven’t lived on an island in Fiji, that’s a big problem.
Desi and Chanelle are no dummies either. They know everyone on the Blue team is protecting Michele and Josh — two players from CBS shows who have crossed over to the MTV series in the past. They’re also very suspicious as to why Michele hasn’t gotten any votes in the past few weeks. Michele tells us in a confessional that OF COURSE she’s playing all sides! Why shouldn’t she? But can Desi and Chanelle rally up enough votes to land her in the Arena?
THE ARENA | TJ reads off the secret votes and the results are:
Tiffany: 2
Monte: 1
Alyssa S.: 1
Josh: 1
Cory: 1
Chanelle: 4
When our gracious host pulls a name from the Hopper, it’s decided that Michaela will be competing against… Tiffany.
In “Top Heavy,” players are strapped to the top of a large beam. They must shift their weight back and forth to grab balls and sink them in a basket. The first to 10 wins and stays in the game.
Michaela summons her inner-Jordan (Michael, not Wisely) and scores nonstop, but Tiffany struggles to get any momentum. She says she feels like “an elementary player up against LeBron James,” and it’s quite clear that Michaela’s running away with this thing. And that she does, sending Tiffany on the next flight back home.
But will Michaela defect? That quickly becomes moot when TJ tells her to rejoin her team. That’s because the teams are done and from here on out, it’s every man and woman for him- and herself! The next challenge will be an individual one and everyone will be at risk.
Will Bananas, Tori and Wes be back in the hot seat? Who do you want gone next? Drop some comments below with all of your thoughts!
