The second run of "The Challenge: War of the Worlds" has not yet aired, but one of the stars revealed he suffered an off screen injury that left him permanently blind in one eye.

British reality star Theo Campbell is most famous for appearing in the third season of "Love Island," but he made a name for himself in the American reality circuit after appearing on MTV's "The Challenge: War of the Worlds" that aired earlier this year.

Now 25-year-old Campbell is revealing he suffered a tragic accident that has changed his life forever.

"So yeah basically 2 eye surgeries later after a really unfortunate accident, I’ve lost all vision in my right eye as it got split in half, who would have thought a champagne cork would be the end of me," Campbell revealed on Instagram alongside a photo of his bandaged right eye.

It's unclear when the accident went down, but a couple days ago Campbell did post a photo of himself in front of a Veuve Clicquot Champagne sign.

Even though many would be gutted by the news of losing sight in one eye, Campbell is trying to remain optimistic.

"I still have 1 eye left, looking at the bright side of things," he explained.

The reality star also thanked his girlfriend for looking after him while he underwent the surgeries, and asked for tips on finding some "cool eye patches."

Some of Campbell's "Challenge" co-stars left comments on his Instagram, including Wes Bergmann, who competes on the U.S. team.

"I don’t understand how you just spent a year jumping of speeding semi trucks and running ultra marathons but a champagne cork got you. I’m very sorry to hear this and I wish you a speedy recovery. We will get you a D & G eye patch," Bergmann joked.

"The Challenge: War of the Worlds 2" stacks up U.S. reality stars against their cohorts from across the pond, and will premiere Wednesday, August 28th on MTV.
