Channing Tatum allows James Corden to audition for 'Magic Mike Live'
When The Late Late Show With James Corden heard Channing Tatum was holding auditions for Magic Mike Live, they knew they had to send their host to audition.
When James Corden arrived at the audition site, he was not warmly welcomed. Tatum tried to explain to Corden that he just wasn’t the right type, saying, “You need stamina, you need sexiness and you need abs.” Corden replied, “I’ve got stamina, I’ve clearly got sexiness and I’ve got an ab.”
In hopes of getting a chance to audition, Corden resorted to calling Tatum nicknames like, “Chan, Jackie Chan, Channy Channy bang bang, stick it to the Chan, Chan me if you can, Kellogg’s Raisin Chan.”
Tatum finally agreed to give Corden a shot. And while the host was not very good at first, he worked his way up to not terrible. So Tatum cast Corden.
Right before the show, a nervous Corden told Tatum, “I’m scared. I’m scared of what I did. I’m scared of what I saw, but most of all I’m scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way that I feel when I’m with you.”
Tatum appreciated the homage to Dirty Dancing, and rooted for Corden as he danced his heart out onstage.
The Late Late Show with James Corden airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS.
