Channing Tatum Issues Bold Challenge After Witnessing Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Person
Channing Tatum has a mighty big challenge for his fellow athletically-inclined individuals after witnessing the magic of Taylor Swift in person.
During a visit to The Tonight Show, the Magic Mike alum looked back on his trip to the Eras Tour, where he rocked a homemade shirt created with the help of his daughter and a bedazzled, Lover-era heart around his eye.
Despite never having seen the concert in person, Jimmy Fallon admitted to knowing that he didn't even have to ask how the show was, but prompted Tatum to dish anyway.
The actor revealed that he'd been a fan of Swift's music for "forever," but seeing it performed live was a whole other beast. "I did not know that she was such an unstoppable force," he said. Though he's interacted with her in the past, knowing her "a little personally" as "normal and sweet"—and having been the impressed recipient of her homemade pop-tarts—getting "to see her go on stage for like, a three-plus-hour show" brought a new level of admiration.
"I challenge any triathlete that's a champion to go and do what she's doing on stage," he boldly suggested. Swift, of course, has our muscles aching just reading about her intense workout regimen designed to sustain the impressive setlist, so we'll definitely leave that challenge to the professionals.
"I was a fan fan after that," Tatum added, and, much to his chagrin, Fallon proved that statement with an adorable video of the actor getting down to "Shake it Off" at the concert.
"In my defense...I was trying so hard to just not do Magic Mike dances," he joked. "...keep it all above the waist."
