You might be able to kiss a hundred boys in bars, but you know who can’t? Chappell Roan, and not just because she’s gay; the singer revealed that making out with strangers is one of many things that she misses about her pre-fame life in a recent appearance on The Comment Section with Drew Afualo.

Roan sat down with the influencer for the latest episode of her podcast, which came out on Wednesday. The conversation provided a rare glimpse into the “Red Wine Supernova” singer’s feelings about her ascent to fame, and the mixed feelings that she has about it. Afualo asked Roan what she misses about everyday life before becoming an internationally recognized pop star, and before discussing kissing people at bars, she immediately responded, “Drugs. Drugs in public. That’s what I miss.”

“Rolling up, being a fucking freak at the bar,” she said, “or making out with someone at the bar.”

Other things that the singer miss include “frolicking, obviously, because now I’m too self-conscious to frolic,” and “being in Forever 21 and not being judged.” Of the latter, she said, “I don’t wanna fucking hear it. I’m not gonna buy anything, I’m just looking around.”

On a more serious note, Roan shared that she’s now reached the level of fame where “people have started to be freaks,” to the point where some of her fans “knows where my parents live and where my sister works and all this weird shit.” As a result, she revealed that she’s “pumped the brakes on, honestly, anything to make me more known.”

I'm an Angel Wings sun, Bonnaroo rising, and Lady Liberty moon.

But of course, there are also plenty of perks that come with being a rich and famous musician. “I never really expected anything for my career except to make me happy,” Roan said, adding that she knows she “can be happy and poor.” “Not having money doesn’t scare me. It’s really just like, how do I make this be sustainable?” she said, saying that her current fame is “icing on the cake.”

“But I never thought I could fly first class,” she told Afualo. She also never anticipated all the party and backstage invites she's recently recieved: “Miley invited me to like a party and I was like, you don't know that you were my first concert when the Jonas Brothers were opening for you.”
