Charlie Covell Urges Fans To “Please Keep Talking About ‘Kaos'” In First Statement Since Shock Cancellation
Charlie Covell has urged fans to “please keep talking about Kaos” after the shock cancellation of the Netflix show earlier this week.
Fans were left blindsided on Tuesday when one of the lead actors, Aurora Perrineau, posted on Instagram saying that the show would be ending after one season. This came a few weeks after Covell said they had ideas for another two seasons of the Sister-produced series, which starred Jeff Goldblum, Janet McTeer and Nabhaan Rizwan.

Taking to Sister’s Instagram in the past few minutes, Covell said “my hope now is that people still continue to discover and enjoy the show.”
“I reckon there are some potential fans out there who might need more time to find it, so please keep talking about Kaos if you enjoyed it,” wrote Covell, who also created the hit The End of the F***ing World series for Netflix and Channel 4.
“Gutted”
Covell said they are “gutted not to be making more Kaos but I don’t want this news to overshadow what we did make.” Goldblum starred in Kaos as Zeus, who begins to fear his reign is ending as he spots a wrinkle on his forehead, making him paranoid and spiteful toward his devotees. Meanwhile, three mortals (Perrineau, Misia Butler and Leila Farzad) set off on a journey to fulfill their identical prophecies.
The news of the cancellation of such a big-budget show so soon after launch came as a surprise on Tuesday and Deadline understands that preparations were well underway for a second season, with the first left open-ended. It had built up quite a fan base and appeared in Netflix’s top 10 for English-language series for its first four weeks.
Covell thanked the “marvellous fans,” adding: “I’ve been shown subreddits that have made my heart positively sing: the tiny details and Easter eggs you noticed made my day many times over.”
In a nod to the series, they joked that the phrase “there’s no renewal” is “satisfyingly meta, even in cancellation.”
