Who is Luke Mitchell’s Wife?
Mitchell is married to fellow actress Rebecca Breeds, who he met while the two co-starred on the Australian soap Home and Away. The couple announced their engagement in May of 2012 and married in January of 2013. They have no children together, but they share a dog named Alfie who makes frequent appearances on both their Instagram feeds.
Breeds is best known for her role as Clarice Starling on the CBS crime drama Clarice and her roles as Nicole Gordon on Pretty Little Liars and Aurora de Martel on both The Originals and Legacies – where Mitchell also appeared. That means the two have shared a screen in two separate projects so far in their careers.
Breeds spoke about their marriage in an interview with Now to Love, sharing that the two have grown together and have always had a great time. “Even when we were living overseas and working on different things, we always said, ‘Are you having fun? Because if not, we can move home and open a cafe and we’ll have a great time.’”

The couple has indeed moved from Australia to the US and back for work and has always maintained their bond. “It was really powerful to have someone who was your anchor and your home base because it can be a very difficult experience, moving away from everything you’ve ever known. Our industry has a lot of pressure and a lot of highs and a lot of lows. It can be very lonely,” Breeds also shared. “And it’s amazing as well to look back and go, ‘Wow, do you remember this?’ Luckily, he remembers stuff that I forget and I remember stuff he forgets. And he always takes the best photos. I’m terrible at taking photos. We know we always have each other, and that’s enough.”
For St. Patrick’s Day 2024, Mitchell shared an Instagram of himself and Breeds in front of the green-for-the-day Chicago River. The two are leaning towards each other, about to kiss. Chicago is, of course, home base for Mitchell these days thanks to his role as Dr. Mitch Ripley on Chicago Med. Mitchell is set to return for Season 10 of the show, which will premiere on September 25 on NBC.
