‘Chicago P.D.’ Fans Are ‘In Denial’ Over Tracy Spiridakos' Latest Selfie With Co-Star

Many Chicago P.D. viewers are still “in denial” that a series favorite, Tracy Spiridakos, is quickly approaching her final episode with the popular NBC police procedural.

Several fans voiced their sadness over the anticipated exit of Detective Hailey Upton after Spiridakos, 36, posted a selfie with one of her co-stars on Instagram. She shared the photo shortly before the ninth episode of Season 11 aired on Wednesday, April 3.

“We are here to tell you that there’s a new episode of Chicago PD tonight, and that you don’t want to miss it,” the actress wrote to caption the image of herself standing beside Benjamin Levy Aguilar, who plays Officer Dante Torres. Both Spiridakos and Aguilar flashed big smiles for the photo, which showed them dressed in the black police uniforms they wear on the show.

“I'm still in denial we'll have to say goodbye to Hailey soon,” one fan commented. “You’ve always been my favorite!”

“I'll miss Hailey Upton and I won't say goodbye,” another fan wrote, adding that they would prefer to say “c u later” to the character.

“We’re really going to miss you Tracy,” another Instagram user said.

Fans first learned that Spiridakos would be leaving the show last fall. In December 2023, showrunner Gwen Sigan told TVLine that the 11th season would feature significant “growth and change” for Spiridakos’ character ahead of her eventual departure.

Spiridakos has shared several selfies with her co-stars since the 11th season premiered earlier this year. Fans have frequently expressed their sorrow about the actress’ plans to leave the show in the comment sections for those photos.

Spiridakos first appeared on Chicago P.D. in Season 4 before becoming a member of the main cast in Season 5. As of early April, it was still unclear which episode of Season 11 would be her last.
