'Chicago P.D.' sneak peek: Meet Wendell Pierce's new mover and shaker
A new face is making waves on Chicago P.D.
The Wire alum Wendell Pierce guest-stars this season as Alderman Ray Price, described by showrunner Rick Eid as “a shrewd, magnetic politician.”
“He elevates every scene he’s in, and it was exciting to see him go toe-to-toe with Voight [Jason Beghe],” Eid told Yahoo Entertainment.
In this exclusive sneak peek from next week’s season premiere, Ray Price meets Detectives Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas) and Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati). He demands to know the circumstances of a shooting that left a woman dead and a child injured.
When Burgess explains the involvement of gangbangers, Price not only questions if they’re entirely to blame, but he also insults her.
“Must be nice to be so naive, and beautiful, too. A hell of a combination,” he says, antagonizing Olinsky and leading the chief (Esai Morales) to step in.
Chicago P.D. Season 5 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 10 p.m. on NBC.
