Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt Doubles Down on Bold Comments About Travis Kelce Dating Taylor Swift
Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt is doubling down on his bold opinion of star player Travis Kelce's relationship with superstar Taylor Swift.
In a new interview with Bloomberg that swiftly spread across Swiftie X, the team's co-owner offered a more concrete look at the couple's impact on the red kingdom than ever before, revealing that, by his estimate, the Chiefs' fanbase grew by about 30 percent since Swift made her NFL debut at Arrowhead Stadium back in September when the team took on the Chicago Bears at home.
Back in January, Hunt emphasized how pleased he was with the newfound "attention that's been focused on the Chiefs" as a result, specifically pointing out how their "female audience has grown leaps and bounds," and this week, he reiterated, "the knock-on effect has been amazing, the growth in our female fan base has been amazing over the last year."
While the NFL declined to reveal how those numbers were reached, it did back Hunt up with Bloomberg, confirming his estimation of increased fanship—which even the league was stunned by—to the publication.
The CEO also looked back on Swift's first game not only for the "unplanned phenomenon" that it kicked off—previously clapping back against critics accusing them of orchestrating "a marketing stunt" when he affirmed that it was all "purely organic"—but for the way Swift refused to make a big deal about the whole thing.
As Kelce previously revealed, Swift didn't want any special treatment as she arrived for the game, walking through the front gates like everybody else.
It was a move that racked up "[crazy] points" with Kelce, and Hunt and the security team were shocked, too.
"Our security people were like, 'Are you kidding me?'" he recalled. "She came to the game and completely lit up social media, every other kind of media."
Hunt also reaffirmed how happy he is for the two in their relationship, noting, "I've seen them together and they make a fantastic couple."
Luckily, everyone else who's ever been asked has agreed.
