Chiefs players embrace being mama’s boys in sweet video: ‘Enjoy your moms, man’
The players of the Kansas City Chiefs are some real mama's boys.
In a sweet video posted to the Chiefs official TikTok account, the Chiefs players revealed the last time they spoke to their mothers — with many proudly showing off their strong relationships.
Walking by the camera, Xavier Worthy was the first to answer the question, saying, “This morning.” Skyy Moore, strutting alongside Worthy, repeated the same answer.
Mecole Hardman then approached the camera and said he hadn't talked to his mom yet, but was going to give her a call "right now."
Jawaan Taylor also revealed that he spoke to his mom that morning, adding, “Love you, mama!”
When Chukwuebuka Godrick gave his answer, the offensive lineman said a conversation with his mother is part of his daily morning routine.
“I wake up. I say my prayers. I talk to my mama,” Godrick said.
“You ain’t talking to your mama? We got a problem!” Ramzee Robinson said to the camera.
Derrick Nnadi took the question as a prompt to call his mom right in front of the camera. Meanwhile, Isiah Pacheco said he talked to his mom last night.
As for Chiefs assistant defensive line coach Terry Bradden, he said he “talks to my mama every morning. And we pray together. Families that pray together, stay together. Amen.”
Malik Herring responded excitedly to the the question, answering, “Yesterday! And I’m going to call her when I leave here! I love my mother, I miss you!”
Chiefs defensive backs coach Dave Merritt had a powerful message for those who might take their mothers for granted, answering that he last spoke to his mom in 2002.
“Enjoy your moms, man. Call ‘em,” he said.
In the comment section of the now-viral video, fans were feeling all the love.
“Was not expecting to cry over a Chiefs TikTok today… time to call my mom,” one person wrote, with another adding that the clip is their “new favorite Chiefs video.”
“It made my day to see that those big strong men talk to their mom is every morning and they pray together maybe there’s hope lol,” another commented.
Another wrote, “As a boy mom. This makes me happy,” with a heart-eyes emoji.
Many were also moved by Merritt's words about his own mother.
“Thanks for sharing this, especially the last part with Coach Merritt. Don’t ever take our moms for granted,” one comment read.
Another person wrote, “coach Merritt got me crying crying. i cant imagine.”
