Chloe Bailey, who performs as a solo artist under the moniker Chl?e, shares with fans why they have not seen her on stage since the 2024 BET Awards where she paid tribute to Usher as he received the Lifetime Achievement Honor. During an Instagram Live, the 26-year-old elaborated that to perform she needs the money and at the moment, funding for shows is not prioritized.

“Trust me, I would be performing if I could,” the “Rose” singer detailed. “The thing is that money goes into the performances. So, it’s not free to do performances and you have to get budgets approved and things like that… If I could, I’d be performing everywhere.”

She went on to detail how she can take on multiple projects, noting that she performed at Coachella as she was filming Peacock’s Fight Night.

“I share a lot of stuff with you guys. You know my work ethic is top-notch… When it comes down to it, I will do any and everything. Just know it’s never my work ethic… y’all know I love working,” she asserted.

The livestream was posted by a TikTok user who blamed Beyoncé for Chl?e’s budget woes and then reposted by The Neighborhood Talk, where some commenters agreed. Through her deal, the In Pieces singer has contracts with Colombia Records and Parkwood Entertainment, Queen Bey’s production, management, and entertainment company.

“Even if she’s signed to beyonce, there would still be a budget in place. even beyoncé has a budget for her projects,” wrote one user in the comments.

Another fan wrote, “She is signed to Parkwood Entertainment which is Beyoncé’s label.. and signed to Columbia for DISTRIBUTION. So yes, it’s actually Beyoncé who gets the blame for those confused.”

“Chile bye y’all be saying anything. Chloe still owes her label money bc she ain’t doing good like they that she would. They funded so much of her things. Her first tour etc. the fans are not buying her music so it’s their fault,” critiqued another.

Chl?e’s latest album Trouble In Paradise was released last month via Parkwood Entertainment LLC, under exclusive license to Columbia Records, a Division of Sony Music Entertainment.

Ahead of its release, she detailed that if her solo debut In Pieces was about “appreciating the sadness of heartache,” then Trouble In Paradise is the opposite, where it’s “a coming-of-age celebration of being a woman and having fun, not taking life too seriously.”
