Chrissy Teigen shares the 'beautiful' way daughter Luna honored baby Jack as family receives his ashes
As Chrissy Teigen mourns son Jack, her daughter Luna is helping put a smile on her face.
Teigen and John Legend lost their baby boy six weeks ago, halfway through her third pregnancy. On Monday, the Cravings author revealed they received Jack’s ashes. She shared two videos on Instagram “to always remember” her “incredibly empathetic” 4-year-old daughter, Luna.
“This is the cutest, most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. We just got baby Jack's ashes back, so they’re in here for now with some blessed holy tie string,” the 34-year-old said in the first video, showing the white box of ashes next to a teddy bear. “Luna put a little therapy bear around him and the best part is, I came down and she gave him a piece of her favorite snack.”
Luna set “a tiny piece of Pirate’s Booty” on the box.
“I can’t,” Teigen said. “She’s amazing.”
In the second video, Luna is seen introducing herself and the bear to baby Jack. “How are you doing today,” she asks.
Teigen, who has been open throughout her grieving process, explained in the caption she’s “thinking a lot about Jack today.”
“Our house is very open about life, death, grief, everything really,” she wrote. “We try to explain things well and answer every question imaginable in a beautiful, spiritual but literal way. I know this is a weird post but I just wanted to share these to always remember my incredibly empathetic little mini. life is infinitely better with her in it. I miss u, jack. we miss you a lot.”

Teigen received an outpouring of support from her 33 million followers.
“Don't feel weird about anything you want to post as you grieve your loss,” one woman wrote.
“Not weird at all. Being vulnerable on the internet can be terrifying but you are helping so many people on their own journey and grieving process. All the love and then some,” added another woman.
“This is beautiful and heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once,” wrote someone else. “Thank you for sharing this.”
Thousands of people expressed similar sentiments, applauding Teigen for her transparency.
In a powerful essay last month, Teigen addressed some people’s criticism over the public way she’s handled her pregnancy loss.
“I cannot express how little I care that you hate the photos. How little I care that it’s something you wouldn’t have done,” Teigen wrote. “I lived it, I chose to do it, and more than anything, these photos aren’t for anyone but the people who have lived this or are curious enough to wonder what something like this is like. These photos are only for the people who need them. The thoughts of others do not matter to me.”
Legend and Teigen are also parents to 2-year-old son Miles.
