Christie Brinkley fires back at critics of her looks: 'The Wrinkle Brigade is out in full force'
Christie Brinkley is firing back at those criticizing her looks, dubbing them "The Wrinkle Brigade."
The 69-year-old model, actress and entrepreneur shared her thoughts on trolls fixating on her appearance in an Instagram post Thursday.
"Whoa Nelly !" she wrote, captioning a selfie. "The Wrinkle Brigade is out in full force in the comment thread! They are the people that scan celebrities pages, hoping to find some cellulite , wrinkles , or anything that they can point to to to critique."
Brinkley added these critics must feel some "form of compensation for some thing they are lacking."
She also took time to highlight those spreading positivity in the comments.
"But when those people appear, there are others who pop up with messages so kind and valuable," she wrote. "Those are the comments that restore my faith and make my heart sing! Thank you sweet souls."
Brinkley isn't the only celebrity to face scrutiny for signs of aging. Justine Bateman, who shot to fame as a teen on the '80s sitcom "Family Ties," shared in an April interview with "60 Minutes Australia" she thinks she looks "rad" aging naturally, despite online commentary over her "old" looks.
The 57-year-old actress said she stumbled upon internet fascination over her face while looking herself up online.

“I put in my name, googled my name, 'Justine Bateman,' and an autocomplete came up which was ‘looks old,' " she said, adding she was around 42 at the time. "I was like, ‘What?’ ... I couldn’t see what they were talking about.”
Bateman added she thinks cosmetic procedures "would erase" the authority she's gained through the years.
"I like feeling that I am a different person now than I was when I was 20," she said. "I like looking in the mirror and seeing that evidence. ... I think my face represents who I am. I like it.”
