Christina Aguilera is opening up about the long-term consequences of years of performing in an accessory she now calls "nonsense."

In a new interview with up-and-coming British singer Raye for Rolling Stone, the "Fighter" singer, 43, was asked what piece of advice she had for her younger counterpart, who turns 27 on Oct. 24. But in comparison, the "Escapism." singer is already lightyears ahead.

"I think she’s already ahead of the game, to be very honest with you," Aguilera replied, immediately pointing out "the fact that she sings barefoot."

"I’ve already f---ed up my legs and my feet so bad with all this high-heel nonsense," she continued, explaining that her years of wearing the raised footwear on stage damaged the cartilage in her knee.

"I love that about you, though," she added. "I never had the balls to just do it. Those are the best when you just feel the floor underneath."

Earlier this year, the singer had to postpone her Las Vegas residency due to her health, coming down with an unspecified flu that held her back from the stage for several shows.

She continued, "It must be your responsibility to take up your space. Other people’s opinions of me are not my business."
